Trade Measurement

The Trade measurement unit is responsible for ensuring there is accurate measurements in trade throughout the Northern Territory. This is done is accordance with prescribed legislation, in this case the Trade Measurement Act 1990.

Trade Measurement's has Inspectors operate throughout the Northern Territory. The Inspectors assist business, industry and consumers with advice and information about correct trade measurement practices.

Measuring instruments in the market place are regularly tested to ensure accuracy.

Certifiers licensed under the Act also test measuring instruments they have installed and repaired. Click here for a licence information kit.

The Act also allows for the licensing of weighbridges to be used as Public Weighbridges.
